Pests like ants, bugs, rodents, scorpions, pigeons and many others not only damage your home but also pose a threat to your health. Therefore it’s essential to take action in the prevention of pest infestation. The best possible way to make sure that your home is free of pests is to find a professional pest control las vegas company that offers quality pest control services.

The Internet is one of the most important sources of information you should use when looking for a pest control company in Las Vegas. Go to the companies’ websites, read customer reviews and testimonials. Look at review sites such as angieslist.com, yelp.com, or judysbook.com. Ask friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to recommend or suggest a pest control company they have used and liked.

Find a company that is registered under the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The companies listed here are not only considered to be reputable but also ones that can be trusted. Don’t forget to do proper research or to find out about the kind of services they are offering. Remember it’s important to choose an experienced company that can handle all your pest control requirements.

Budget is another main factor here. Compare the costs between companies keeping all the other aspects that can affect your budget in mind. There are many companies that offer a free home inspection, it is usually then that they quote their fee. Expensive doesn’t always mean top quality and cheap services should raise your suspicion. Most importantly make sure they use environmentally friendly pest control products and offer quality services at a reasonable rate. If possible get in touch with their previous clients to find out whether or not they were satisfied with their services. Ask as many questions as possible especially to know about their pest control measures and about the length of time they’ve had a pest free home. If the pests come back after a few days of their services, you should find another pest control company.

The infestation of pests is a major problem in the United States of America these days. People are very proactive about keeping bugs out of their homes. This is not only a problem for health and sanitary issues but it puts the safety of your loved ones at risk as well. There are many companies that provide pest control las vegas services at affordable prices. But there are a lot of people who would like to save money here by using home remedies for stopping the infestation of pests. There are several home remedies to get rid of those irritating and harmful bugs and pests. These pest control remedies are effective and can save you a lot of money. Remember for intense pest infestation, it is advised to consult or take help of a professional pest control company.

Try this if you have red ants in your home.  You can keep them away with concoction borax and sugar. In a quarter jug, mix one cup of sugar and one cup of borax. Punch holes in the jar’s lid, and sprinkle the mixture outdoors around the foundation of your home and around the baseboards inside your house. The ants are attracted by the sugar and poisoned by the borax. For cockroaches, sprinkle borax powder in the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. And make sure that you don’t sprinkle it where pets could be affected. An insect spray can take care of most pests at home and around. Unfortunately, if you have run out of insect spraythen don’t fret.  Hair spray can easily kill a hornet, wasp, bee or other flying insect. Don’t let water accumulate around your home; it can lead to mosquito infestation.

Raccoons and rodents are the most troublesome pests. People can’t easily control the infestation of rodents in or around their homes. However, there are certain home remedies which, if properly applied, can do the wonders and safeguard your family. Raw bacon or peanut butter makes good bait for a mousetrap. Make sure a mouse will have to tug the trap to remove the bait. If you’re using peanut butter, dab some on the triggering device and let it harden before setting the trap. If bacon is your bait, tie it around the triggering device. If a raccoon sets up home in your attic or chimney, chemical repellants — such as oil of mustard — are temporarily effective. Your best bet is to let the animal leave, and then cover its entrance hole with wire mesh so that it cannot return. To keep rodents out of your house, seal every opening they could squeeze through. Some need less than 1/4 inch of space. Put poison in deep cracks or holes, and stuff them with steel wool or scouring pads pushed in with a screwdriver. Close the spaces with spackling compound mixed with steel wool fragments. If you do have these types of pests in your home it is always best to call for help from a professional pest control company.

  • Rodent Control; Mice Control

    Jul 22nd 2011

Imagine a common household; dilapidated, the  wall paper coming off its walls, little creatures with long tails squeaking around, and stench in the air. Sounds familiar? Well, if you have been ignoring a rodent problem in your home, they can be burrowing in your walls and could cause major damage to your home quickly.

Infestation of rodents drastically increases the chance of your being infected by diseases they could be carrying. They are the major carriers of the  agents of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome, which can spread through from infected rodents through their bites, droppings or even the fur that falls from their body. Especially if there are children in your house, you cannot afford to have rodents in your house, as infants are more likely to contract these diseases.

Rats, as cunning as they are sneaky, find their way into your house at one time or another. Although preventive maintenance is very important, it is not always what people consider as a priority, maybe because of the expenses and time involved. To many people, the remedy is off the shelf products like poisons and baits. If not administered properly, these can endanger non targeted pests, and cause more trouble than good. When dealing with poisons or chemicals it should be left upon the professionals. Rats are underestimated by most people; they are disease infested rodents and should be maintained under control, or eliminated.

Even if we use the latest electronic traps to catch the mice, we are only eliminating the effect and not the cause, which leaves room for more rodents to make a safe haven in your own house.

Rodent management, control, and elimination should begin with a thorough inspection of the building, or property which needs such attention. Identifying the rodent “target” is an important step in deciding what procedure of control must be taken. Rat proofing a home is the first step towards exclusion. The main and all possible entry points must be identified. Not all entries are visible from outside. One must go into attics or crawl spaces to find the most accessible entries for rodents, which are often missed by inexperienced technicians.

Once the rodents have been removed and the area proofed, decontamination is required to ensure complete rodent control.

Thus, whenever the need arises, clearing our surroundings of such pests should have the highest priority on our to do list.

Scorpions are one of the deadliest creatures that can infest your home or your surrounding property. They are menacing, vicious creatures and should be taken care of as soon as possible before they cause any harm to you, your loved ones, or your pets.

Scorpions are tough creatures and can live in even tougher environments. It is best to bring in the professionals to do the job of eradicating them from your home once and for all. Experience and proper equipment count when trying to deal with scorpions. And that is what we have got at Fischer’s Pest Control. We are a licensed company which provides best results at competitive prices in the class.

Scorpions usually thrive in a warm, dry climate, like Las Vegas but they can be found in most of the parts of US. If you repeatedly see scorpions near your home, or see both juvenile and adult scorpions then chances are high that your neighborhood is scorpion infested. They might be living outside but might be coming to your home frequently for shelter, water etc.

At Fischer’s Pest Control, we provide two kinds of services to remove scorpion population. In the first kind, we use scorpion repelling pesticides to remove the infestations. We continually keep doing it at regular intervals for about 90-120 days until the scorpions are removed. This method is more effective when it comes to complete removal and keeping up the same in the coming future. However this might be a riskier option to opt for if you have kids or pets or a sensitive garden etc. which might come in contact with the chemicals and get contaminated.

The other method is more eco-friendly and does not affect the environment as much. This method employs our professionals who go out in the field and catch the scorpions. This is our exclusion treatment service and aim at eliminating all scorpions by capturing them one by one manually. Scorpions usually come out in the evening when the temperature goes down. It is then that we go out with “blacklight”, a kind of ultraviolet light that is reflected by the scorpion’s exoskeleton and as a result they glow in the dark. This method is equally effective and the results are visible in the first day only. The process is repeated several times regularly until population drops to null.

One must note however, that prevention is better than cure. It is advisable to keep you yard clean and cover up small openings and inlets to your house where scorpions or other pets can get inside. Small, simple changes can prevent the scorpion population from increasing itself.

Even if things get out of hand, Fischer’s Pest Control services are always there to assist you always in the best way that you can get.

Pests are detrimental to a property and the health of a human being. They destroy products and also lead to various diseases. The ecology is also adversely affected due to these pests. There are various ways of controlling pests in the home and also many advantages.

Pest control can be taken to be an analogy of health control. A specialist needs to be involved who analyses the problem and then recommends the corrective measures to be taken against them. Techniques including that of Integrated Pest Management are very effective as these provide insights towards the complete removal and destruction of the pests in the area.

The most common of all the various methods used is that of the usage of the pesticide. A pesticide is toxic only to the pest and has no detrimental effects on the humans living around it. Others involve processes of ensuring that the moisture content remains low and undisturbed by the environment. This involves sealing and isolation of the moisture containing areas. This moisture control includes fixing of any leaking pipes and proper maintenance of the other pipes in the place where possible leakage of water might take place. Removal of water from outdoor containers and the proper maintenance of sewage.

Sanitation is necessary to prevent the formation or the survival of these pests. Thus proper disposal of wastes and the dissociation of these wastes to the free atmosphere is quite necessary to prevent the spreading and thus effective in controlling pests. Sealing food and using the vacuum cleaner also solves many of the problems usually faced concerning spider’s nest and that of Ladybirds.

Integrated pest management is used in agricultural regions. These are areas where the pest usually grows at exponential rates and to stop them at the earliest stage is the best. It follows a three step procedure: the first being Intervention, when the pest control technician disrupts the normal lives of these pests and destroys the source of where the pests are coming from. The second being that of prevention: the use of pesticides and various chemicals to prevent the pests from surviving in the area without adversely affecting human civilization. Observation is then done to ensure that such problems of pests do not come back and to have preventive methods ready when they are likely to do so.

The natural method is that of organic pest control. Here the poison is slowly built over time and this is very effective against these pests. Pesticides destroy those pests who would either affect the crops or destroy those animals that would otherwise help the agriculture. Thus good agricultural practices would include the usage of organic farming where the crops are grown using certain methods which do not allow the easy growth of pest populations.
